I GOT A JOB!!!!

How great is that? I got a job!? Best birthday present ever! Employment! Wooooooo!

So here is the story: I had an interview last Friday, they called me Tuesday and said come in Wednesday for a second interview, I was the only person they gave a second interview to, and Thursday was my first day. Yes, I started work the NEXT DAY after the interview. Incredible.

The job is a legal assistant at a small-medium size firm downtown. Cons: It is a low paying, low ranking, non-attorney position. Pros: They pay me, it is in the field I want to build my career in (trust and estates with small business planning), I can already tell that this position is going to teach me a lot.

I got the job by selling myself as planning to use the job as an opportunity to learn, and that is exactly what I plan on doing.

I'm pretty pumped. I don't know what this means for my blog, obviously I can't really talk about work, but maybe I'll start talking about work appropriate clothes (the office is very professionally dressed). We'll see. But man am I excited to be employed, it feels like my life is no longer stalled.
